Actors Training Center (ATC), a not-for-profit acting school, seeks talented and driven Summer Interns to join our team. Actors Training Center has been serving the greater Chicagoland area since 2007. We are the proud recipients of the Illinois Theatre Association’s 2019 Award of Honor. ATC has been a launching pad for many actors currently working in film, television and stage. Overview: ATC seeks one (1) intern to join our 2-week Professional Summer Intensive program. This program is an advanced, audition-based intensive for high school students grades 9-12. The intern’s main priorities are to serve as an assistant to the Executive Director/Program Director. Key duties include but are not limited to – collection and organization of social media content, uploading and editing showcase footage (basic iMovie skills), leading daily actor warm ups, assisting teachers & Program Director with classroom management, supervising students during travel, meals, and breaks, and being an off-camera reader as needed. Ideal candidates will be college students or recent graduates in the fields of TV, film, theatre, acting, teaching artistry, arts administration or the fine arts.
Qualifications:
- This role is best suited for college students/recent graduates with an interest in pursuing a career or majoring in TV, film, theatre, the fine arts, or teaching artistry
- Proven experience in leadership/managing small groups
- Clear communication skills & a positive leadership style
- Composure under pressure & time restraints
- Understanding of basic editing using iMovie, Google Docs & Presentation software
- Strong reading & speaking skills – the intern will be a reader for on camera exercises
- Experience or interest in teaching or teaching artistry, film/TV/theatre, or working with teens in an artistic setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing class materials (binders, sides, rosters, etc. for instructors)
- Supervision of students during classes, transitions, breaks, and travel
- Assisting teachers with class management, setup/breakdown, and distributing materials
- Remaining diligently aware of the camp agenda from day to day, including keeping the daily schedule on track between campers, teachers, parents, and the ATC staff
- Keep up a positive classroom environment, remain encouraging to students, set an example of mutual respect in the classroom
- Ability to identify when students or teachers need help
- Maintaining a quiet & calm composure while students are filming or acting, and ensuring idle students remain quiet & respectful when they are not performing
- Communicating with class via email regarding class notes/materials, resumes, schedules, etc. as needed
- Facilitating presentations at the final showcase

Overview: In search of an Education Intern for filmmaking summer camp to supervise children between ages 8-13. You must commit to the entire 2-week camp. Camp is based at the ATC Studios, 1159 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091. Filming may extend to the surrounding area within Wilmette during camp days. 2 interns will divide responsibilities between an Education Intern and a Production Intern. Please read below for more information.
Key Responsibilities for Education Intern:
- Overseeing the wellbeing of campers throughout the camp including during: transportation, class “audition” prep & facilitation, any class breaks including mealtimes & snacks, pickup and drop off, and while filming; leading student groups independently
- Facilitating transitions between locations & maintaining camper safety
- Assisting instructors with creating a script based on student input; assisting campers by guiding story brainstorms & ability to construct a narrative with storytelling elements; taking notes during class brainstorming/idea sessions
- Remaining diligently aware of the camp agenda from day to day, including keeping the daily schedule on track between campers, teachers, parents, and the ATC staff
- Distributing materials to campers & parents, as well as creating & sending a daily email for parents
- Being a reader for students during exercises or while practicing lines
- Arriving punctually & preparing the room for camper arrival; assisting with set up and take down of classrooms & film sets
- Create & uphold a positive educational environment for campers
- Working with Production Intern in Week 2 in organizing wardrobe and props, creating custom props, sending wardrobe info to parents, taking pictures of camp activities, creating a daily email to be distributed to campers’ parents, supervising campers, etc.
Qualifications for Education Intern:
- Proven experience working with children is strongly preferred
- Good writing & notetaking skills, and the ability to assist instructors in creating a script/screenplay – experience in writing dialogue is a huge plus!
- Must be able to lead & participate in warmups and improv games, assist the teacher with classroom activities & student supervision, distribute materials to students, and act as a liaison between the Page to Screen group and the ATC office staff
- Experience or interest in working with young artists, TV/film, acting, or the fine arts
- This role is best suited for college students/incoming college freshmen with interest in pursuing a career in childhood education or arts administration/ arts education.

Compensation: $500 total stipend per session

You must commit to the entire second week of the camp, and 1 day of week 1 (program schedule outlined below). Camp is based at the ATC Studios, 1159 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091. - Assist film director with all aspects of filmmaking production, including but not limited to: lighting, sound, staging, etc.
- Assist campers & camp instructor with all elements of production, i.e. supervising camper use of film equipment, educating campers on how to use film equipment, ensuring safety around & for the film equipment, etc.
- Setting up and taking down equipment before, during, and after filming
- Overseeing the overall wellbeing of campers throughout the camp; maintaining camper safety on set

- Experience or interest in TV/film, theatre, acting, or the fine arts; experience with filmmaking equipment including cameras, sound equipment including boom mic and microphones, and lighting equipment
- This role is best suited for college students/incoming college freshmen with interest in pursuing a career in film, TV, or theatre

Compensation: $15/hr
Overview: In search of an Arts Admin/ Alumni Relations Intern for Summer 2025. The ideal candidate enjoys solo and team office work, self-managed administrative projects, and is pursuing a career in a field similar to arts administration or community relations. This role is best suited for a current or incoming college student, or recent graduates. The Arts/ Admin Alumni Relations Intern will commit 4-6 weeks of the summer (no more than 10 hrs per week) to ATC’s office with a focus on updating/ editing databases and building alumni relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative office duties, including organizing Google Drive and computer files/photos
- Assisting ATC staff with administrative projects, including preparing materials for Alumni outreach
- Writing and editing emails or other communications for Alumni outreach
- Updating or editing ATC’s Wall of Fame
- Managing outreach projects as assigned by ATC staff
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Google Suite & Microsoft Suite
- Excellent writing and grammar skills
- This role is best suited for college students/incoming freshmen with interest in TV/film/theatre, arts administration, alumni relations, building community relationships/community outreach, arts administration, PR, or other communications endeavors
