ATC summer in the city
First launched in 2023, ATC’s Summer in the City program is a free acting intensive for Chicago public high school students who are interested in learning more about professional acting and personal development. In bringing our brand of “process over product” acting training into Chicago, our goal is close the opportunity gap in high quality arts education by providing a fully funded acting program. Taught by working industry professionals, students are exposed to acting exercises and experiences designed to amplify their curiosity about a career in the performing arts while promoting and instilling joy, confidence, and community.
Program Highlights include:
- On-camera acting and theatre training from working professionals
- A professionally photographed headshot
- A group trip to one of Chicago’s world class theatres for a matinee performance
- Complimentary CTA passes to get to and from the program
- Lunch and refreshments each day
Summer in the City is typically held the third week in June, Monday – Friday, 10-3pm at Green Shirt Studio in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood.
