ATC offers scholarships!
It is the desire of the Actors Training Center to make our “process over product” acting training available to everyone who wants to learn regardless of their economic circumstances. To that end, we have created the ATC Scholarship program. Our scholarships are available for both our youth and adult programs and are offered on a per class or per term basis.
In order to be considered for a scholarship, we require the following information:
- A completed application and terms of agreement
- A photo or PDF copy of your current W2 or W9
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or non-family member
- A personal statement using one of the following prompts:
- OPTION A: (For a new ATC student) Please tell us about your journey as an artist and what you hope to achieve through training at ATC.
- OPTION B: (For a returning ATC student) Please tell us training at ATC has impacted your life and a time in which a skill or lesson you learned here has served you outside of the classroom.
Please label and send all your materials to programs@actorstrainingcenter.com prior to completing your online application and agreement. Applications are due at least two weeks before the start of a new class and we request a week to process an application. Please note that classes fill on a first come, first serve basis. If a class has a specific application deadline that deadline will be posted in the class description. You will be notified on the status of your application via email.
Terms of agreement for scholarship
We ask our students who receive scholarships to maintain 100% attendance and that any foreseeable absences are pre-approved prior to enrollment. This helps develop good practice habits and encourages a positive learning experience for not only you but for the other students enrolled.
As we continue to expand our scholarship opportunities, it is your stories and successes in our programing that allows us to go back to existing and new supporters to ask for more help in funding scholarships and free programing. Therefore, we ask that all scholarship recipients write a letter of thanks to their corresponding donor or sponsor and donate one hour of time to our annual fundraising drive.
