A Weekend Workshop with Casting Director Barbara McCarthy. 

Barbara J. McCarthy is returning to her Chicago roots to teach this special workshop exclusively at the Actors Training Center. It’s a rare opportunity to work directly with a casting director of her caliber and get an insider’s perspective on what it takes to book.

Barbara spent nine years as a Casting Executive at Paramount Pictures and has cast major feature films including The Spectacular Now, The DUFF, Five Feet Apart, The Christmas Chronicles, The Last Summer, Tall Girl, Mother’s Day, Pixels, and I Kill Giants, among many others.

In this hands-on weekend workshop, Barbara will work directly with actors on the audition skills that can turn a great audition into a booking—making strong choices, taking direction, and delivering an authentic, memorable performance.

Get on the other side of the casting table and learn from someone who has spent years watching actors audition—and making the decisions about who gets the job.
