Short Film Lab

Requested by many of our students, this fall you’ll collaborate with a community of dedicated artists to write, develop, produce, and film an original short film. The will be developed for production, filmed on location, and screened at a screening event in early 2027.

Writing and casting will be a collaborative process centered on a single film, so while participants should not expect starring roles, everyone will have the opportunity to contribute and leave with usable footage for their reel.

Through writing, development, rehearsal, and production process, you’ll gain hands-on experience bringing a film from concept to screen and leave with a professionally produced film based on your own original work. Taught by veteran ATC instructor/ actor/ filmmaker Carmella Riley. Detailed shoot schedule will be established based on the filmmakers’ schedule and the cast. There is no class on Thanksgiving.
